ORCOIN is a new digital currency specifically designed for non-profits. Transactions are long-latency and low-power. This is the opposite of all other digital currencies, which are low-latency and high-power.
ORCOIN was designed in order to alleviate financial hardships that ORI was facing in an ecologically responsible manner. We look forward to not only being able to completely resolve the financial hardships, but also make it possible for other non-profits and non-commercial organizations to benefit in the same way.
A white paper has been submitted to the ACM. Here’s a preview of the pre-print.
Meetings with the IRS and major Amateur Radio organizations have gone extremely well. We anticipate the technology replacing some financial instruments at the largest amateur radio advocacy organization in the US. This may possibly include incorporation of the technology into a major online logging program.
